Alcyomics was founded with the vision of providing technology support to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, building on 20 years' research experience with the Skin Explant Assay, by Professor Anne Dickinson.

Management Team

Anne   Professor Anne Dickinson - Founder and Director, Professor
  of Transplant Biology, Newcastle University. Anne is chair of
  the board and acts as Chief Scientific Officer for Alcyomics.

  Dr Ian Scoular - CEO, previously Director of Business
  Development, Protherics PLC. Ian has also held positions at
  Nycomed,  Schering-Plough and Reckitt & Colman.

  Dr Xiao Wang - Founder and Director, Lecturer, Newcastle
  University, Xiao has >10 years experience with the Skin
  Explant   Assay and manages our scientific staff.

Funding

Alcyomics has received funding support from North East Finance.

In May 2010 Alcyomics was awarded a ONE North East R&D grant of £100,000.

Alcyomics is also developing a revenue stream from providing services to biotechnology, pharmaceutical and personal healthcare companies and research institutes
